November 2022: BART Board of Directors District 8—Vote Janice Li

The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Board of Directors has gone through a transformation over the last several years, becoming more concerned with transit oriented development, sustainable transportation, and social justice. We at SFLCV applaud this shift.

Janice Li has been an integral part of this transition into a much more dynamic and forward thinking transportation organization, and we are happy to endorse her for reelection. She has become a strong leader on the BART Board. As a newcomer to BART this past term, she learned over time to balance her passion for progressive politics along with the needs of a large transportation agency and its staff, riders, and other stakeholders. Li has pushed for policies closer to her transportation background, such as transit oriented development and sustainable transportation. She has also been a key supporter of progressive policing and social justice initiatives such as MTC's low income pass pilot.
